    About

This is the story of Ammiel, a child initially held in high regard as an intellectual born ahead of his time, whose gifts were not nurtured. Born of teenage parents and rejected by his paternal family because he was not born with his father's last name, the boy suffered serious physical abuse by his father. While living in a home where his mother and stepfather were alcoholics, Ammiel soon found myself making a number of poor choices: living in a cloud of drug addiction and alcoholism. He eventually dropped out of college after being given numerous scholarships, and began cooking and selling illegal drugs, associating with members of a drug cartel, and participating in strong arm robbery. All of these choices led to numerous incarcerations and he even became a target of the FBI. For thirty years Ammiel let his life spiral out of control. Currently suffering from severe depression with psychotic episodes and dreams of committing suicide, this memoir explains why Ammiel made those poor choices, what he plans to do to make amends, and how the love of good friends and one devoted aunt has helped him open his eyes to what he needs to do to regain control of his future.
