• Two of American author Charles Sirango's westerns are in this Kindle book: A Cowboy Detective & A Texas Cowboy
A Cowboy Detective
Siringo was famous for infiltrating Butch Cassidy's Train Robbers Syndicate and, following the Wilcox train robbery of 1899, Siringo he was assigned to track Cassidy and his outlaw gang. This is a true story of the detective's encounters with moonshiners of Kentucky and Virginia and his adventures in Alaska. It is a classic tale of America's frontier at the turn of the century -- the cowboys, the villains, the cattle ranchers and the outlaws that made up America.
A Texas Cowboy
Siringo came up with the idea for this cowboy tale while ranching on the Indian Territory line, close to Caldwell, Kansas, in the winter of 1882 and 1883, The result is a funny and insightful old west memoir recalling how Siringo left school at age 15 shortly after the Civil War to live out his dream of cow punching -- roping, riding, chasing outlaws, pistol whipping, drinking, and gambling.
