This is the true story of Australia's most famous 'bushranger', Ned Kelly. Ned was born in Victoria Colony in 1854. His father died when he was eleven, and his family were poor Irish Catholics. From an early age, he and his brother Dan were always in trouble with the police. They finally became outlaws, living in the outback, where they were joined by two friends, Joe Byrne and Steve Hart. Although the Kelly Gang only ever robbed two banks, the four men became famous for their opposition to the police of Victoria and for the help they gave to the poor and oppressed people of that colony.
