Private Dreams is a true story of my journey through the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. It's how I went from failing the Navy entrance exam to finding myself in the middle of a crisis in the Dominican Republic with the 82nd Airborne Division. A crisis that hardly anybody has heard of. It's also about finding love in a foreign land and being forced to decide between leaving her there or bringing her home. It's more than just a military story. It's also a story that affects every family, and that is cancer. It can bring families together or it can tear them apart. It's a story about the turbulent '60's and the racism that spilled over into the military. In "Private Dreams", I myself had dreams that were private only to me.
