Burglar in the Room

Mallie is yanked from her perfect life to move across the United States with her mother and sister. As they drive north, she asks, “Why?” but her mom and weird sister remain strangely silent. It seems that only her dog and memories of her friends back in Florida will keep her company on the way to Oregon. As the trip unfolds, her sister reveals sexual abuse within the family. The family becomes homeless and penniless, still hundreds of miles from their destination. At the same time Mallie struggles with strong emotions and the stirrings of a new awareness.
