An author study of Hollywood writer/producer/director Nancy Meyers, the most successful woman in American cinema. Surveying her films from Private Benjamin (1980) through It's Complicated (2009), her work is explored in terms of how she turns classic Hollywood genres inside out to make entertaining points about the worlds of work, love, ageing and family from a woman's perspective.
