Hi. I'm Kristian.
I’m the author of the eBook Hiking Norway on a budget. Let me take you on some of the best hikes and most spectacular views in Norway. In this book I will give you all detailed information about how to plan your trip, the best ways to travel within Norway and how to stay on a budget with some of the best hikes.
Why hiking in Norway?
If you think of Norway, you think of Fjords, salmon, vikings etc. Most tourists come to Norway for it’s spectacular views and it’s fjords. But not very well known is the uniqueness of it’s hiking trails in combination with the cabins. You will not find a system that is set up so well for hikers anywhere else in the world. The unique thing about this system is that it offers a very well organized and maintained hiking road all over Norway with 500+ cabins (!) that are available for you to use. Staying at a cabin over night comes with a very small price (around 200 Nok til 250 Nok for Members). This also provides you to hike for multiple day’s in the mountains (without paying for expensive hotels) where you can enjoy the best views and hiking experience. A lot of cabins are also staffed during the summer piriode. This gives you the option to get a dinner and breakfast. It’s also possible to ask for a lunch-packet that the staff can prepare for you to take with you on the trail the next day if you stay overnight.
All the trails are very well maintained and marked (in red colors) over a distance of 20.000 km (!) This is an astonishing number of hiking kilometer trails that you can do without getting lost.
Another great reason to go to Norway is because nature is out there to show all it’s beauty. Get great views from mountain tops, drink water straight from flowing rivers and waterfalls, and enjoy the crystal clear air!
I have done over 20 hikes within Norway on all different locations and would like to share my experience, tips and tricks with you. Most tourist outside Norway are not familiar with the hiking trails Norway has to offer. I hardly met any foreign tourists in all my hikes. This is because the information for foreign tourists are mostly about day trips, places to visit and things to see and do. You will not find hiking trails on tourist information sites like visitnorway.com other than just a small walk or a daily walk around a forest. The hikes I will give you in this book are all detailed information based on experience and describes hikes up to several days or weeks if you’d like. You will get to see beautiful spots you can only see if you go by foot.
