The Mongol Rally - a 10,000 mile adventure, driving a pathetically underpowered car from the UK to Mongolia - all for charity.
"You Want Breakfast Now? A Mongol Rally Experience" is the story of 3 young men from a tiny island in the Isles of Scilly who undertook this challenge in 2010. Despite living on a 2 square mile island, and 2/3rds of the team not having driving licenses, The Islanders obtained a place on the rally and undertook what is possibly the greatest challenge on Earth.
Through cities and villages, mountains and deserts, the Mongol Rally is a true test of character and perseverance. In a challenge where the use of GPS is banned, instead a compass is the chief source of guidance, The Islanders find themselves often up against almost insurmountable problems - but find a way to the finish line.
This story was written on the road, as it happened.
The Scilly Mission raised £15,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. This is the 8th year The Islanders have raised money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
