Gray’s initial intention was not to venture further than Rio De Janeiro for a few relaxing weeks on the beach but as usual for him, nothing quite went to plan. It would be five exciting months via Amazon jungle, Inca ruins, Caribbean coast, native Indian festivals, desert regions and a large portion of the Andes before finally arriving in Rio, eight South American countries later with more than a few tales to tell.
Whenever he could, between his time battling trees infested with ninja spiders, warding off giant crocodiles from leaking canoes and busts from heavily armed Venezuelan police, Gray was sending accounts of his adventures in the form of e-mails to friends. These electronic postcards home were sometimes amazing, sometimes scary, sometimes informative but always enthralling which have been expanded upon for this publication, translating beautifully to book format for others to enjoy.
