In October 2012, the authors embarked on their first overland adventure – driving across Africa. Two people, one Toyota LandCruiser and a long-held dream. For more than a year the couple explored, adventured, travelled. Their adventure took them 42,000 kilometres through 21 countries.
This book is the story of their adventure. It starts with the decision to follow their dream and a brief insight into the preparations. The majority of the book follows the highs and lows of their travels, the numerous memorable experiences, the wildlife they encountered, and the people they met along the way.
This story is not intended to be a travel guide for Africa, nor an instruction manual for overland preparation. Rather, the authors hope to give you a glimpse into the Africa they experienced.
