It will take you along the canals and tell you the history and the stories of the sights you see en route.

The walk can be done in two directions, depending whether you are starting in the main square, or whether you are on a day trip and starting from the train station. Either way its about 4.8 kilometres, if you add in all the optional sidewalks.

"In the middle of this little square is a crazy modern statue, named “Zeus, Leda, Prometheus and Pegasus Visit Bruges”.
Pegasus is clearly the horse; Leda is the naked lady being seduced by Zeus who is disguised as a swan – from a famous Greek legend. That leaves Prometheus as the bowler hatted driver!
Prometheus is also a Greek hero, who stole fire from the gods and gave it to man. He was punished by being bound to a rock and every day an eagle arrived to eat his liver – which regrew every night! So it’s a mystery why he is portrayed as a coach driver!"
