The second book in the Forever series; The journey, fraught with danger, begins. Through the beautiful Alyssa Country, and then into the deep untamed forest, where danger constantly lurks. Just before the meet a friendly escort, an attack develops. Lauren kills for the first time. Then on to the Wolfa clan village, where the Chief is seriously ill. His cure means more journeys deeper into thick forest, where wolf packs await and attack. During the return to the hill fort Bran gets seriously injured in a fight with a wild boar, but worse, a wild, savage tribe attack and capture many of their community. After many privations, they find the fort where they are held and gain access. To free her friends, Lauren has to almost destroy the fort with fire. They flee back to a forest, but Nodens sends fire bolts down, and they are trapped in a fierce forest fire. Princess Lauren finds a way out, but the journey back takes a terrible turn when traders are found tortured and killed. This tribe must be taken on, and beaten, for the country to be safe again. Lauren has brought the English Longbow back in time, the only weapon capable of defeating their enemy.
