    Max Unger, better known as Lionel Strongfort, was best known for the "Human Bridge Act" where he supported a car with six passenger in a bridge position. He launched a mail order course called "Strongfortism" back in the 1900's, which gave him world-wide fame and popularity. Strongfortism stood a test of time and it was the best selling mail-order course for full 25 years.

    Intelligence in Physical Culture by Max Unger is focused on busting various myths and bad recommendations in physical culture which were popular back then and still are to some point. Unger criticism on deep breathing exercises, unnatural systems of training and much more had to be extremely controversial at the time the book was published, but at the same time offering eye-opening, quality information.
