    About

This e-book is No.40 in a series of treasure hunt walks by Treasuredays Ltd.

This is the harder, cryptic version of our London: Soho & Chinatown route.

The Treasure Hunt starts in Soho Square. After exploring the Square and its garden, leave by Greek Street where you will see several of Soho’s famous restaurants. The route then winds through the streets of Soho, including Frith Street, where we pass Ronnie Scott’s jazz club, and Broadwick Street where we pass the site of the pump that helped Dr. John Snow identify the cause of cholera. Eventually we reach Carnaby Street, the fashionable centre of Swinging London in the 1960s.
The next stop is Golden Square where you will see several historic plaques and some interesting modern sculpture. After that, the route heads to Wardour Street, where we stop to explore the churchyard of St. Anne’s Church, Soho, before crossing Shaftesbury Avenue into Chinatown.
The treasure hunt ends in Gerrard Street in Chinatown.

Our treasure hunt e-books are a great way to make a walk around town more fun, interesting and even educational. You can use them to explore a new area, or to find the interesting nooks and crannies that you may have missed in a familiar one.

Each treasure hunt consists of a route around a town or district designed to take in the most interesting and quirky sights, and a set of clues to answer based on things you can find along the route. Most of the clues are written. But there are also a few picture questions – these come at the start of the section of the route in which the picture can be seen, and are indicated by letters rather than numbers. There are 48 questions in all in this hunt.

As you solve each clue, you can record your answer using the notes function on your tablet or Kindle, or use your phone or just good old pen and paper if you prefer. The treasure hunt is divided into sections, and there is a link to check your answers at the end of each section; or you can wait to check everything at the end.

Our treasure hunt e-books are designed for individuals or families and other small groups who are walking the route together. If you wish to do the treasure hunt as a competition in two or more separate groups, please visit the Treasuredays site for information on treasure hunts that will allow you to make as many copies of the question sheets as you need.

You should typically allow about 2-3 hours to complete the treasure hunt. But it may take longer if you stop for refreshments or retrace your steps to find clues you may have missed.
