Casey Baynes has a long standing career in law enforcement in the State of Georgia. Casey began his law enforcement career in 1994 with the Union Point Police Department as a patrol officer. After leaving Union Point Police Department, he worked for Greene County Sheriff’s Office. He served several roles during his time with both with Union Point and with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office including: road supervisor, transports, court services, detective, and internal affairs. In addition to his police work, Baynes has provided expert testimony in the areas of marijuana identification and the street value of crack cocaine.
In 2012, Casey left the Greene County Sheriff’s Office to join the staff of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center as a full-time instructor for the Basic Training Division at the Regional Police Academy in Athens where he heads the Defensive Tactics training.
Casey has been married since 1992 and has 4 children. He is also the owner/operator of the Megalodon Gym in Watkinsville where he teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai martial arts classes. He is a black belt under Jacare' Calvacanti, Alliance Atlanta.
