The goal of this program is to improve the management of sleep apnea. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Associate the pathophysiology of sleep apnea with clinical presentations.
2. Recognize the risk factors for obstructive sleep apnea.
3. Distinguish the components of sleep-related airway control and their dysfunctions.
4. Detect sites of obstruction in patients with sleep apnea.
5. Recommend and monitor use of continuous positive airway pressure in patients with sleep apnea.
