Charles Robert Darwin ( 1809 - 1882 ) was an English naturalist. Darwin made famous the concept of natural selection and believed that all forms of life have descended from a common ancestry. This theory was displayed throughout his famous 1859 book On the Origin of Species. The Voyage of the Beagle is about Darwin’s experiences during his five year expedition on the ship HMS Beagle.
