Q: What do you like about a love triangle romance?
A: You can’t go wrong with a love triangle. It adds tension and suspense and it gives readers a chance to pick their favorites. Books like The Hunger Games and Twilight made a whole campaign out of their characters’ love triangle. Readers loved it!
Q: And there’s workplace romance as well?
A. Yes. I love diving into the workplace because it’s where most people spend their days and can relate. A workplace romance is fun to write because it gets complicated and messy real fast. Especially if things hit a bump in the road. You have to see that person almost everyday whether it’s the best or worst part of your day!
Q. One of the characters is recovering from amnesia. How does that effect his relationships?
A. I love a good amnesia romance but this character has already come out of the amnesia when the story begins. It adds to his complicated and backstory and mostly solitary existence up until the moment the story begins.
Q. Would you consider this a sweet romance series? Are you a fan of the genre?
A. I didn’t set out to write a sweet romance and there are a few steamy moments but nothing even close to 50 Shades or anything erotic. In the end the book did turn out being sweet but that’s because of how and when the characters get together. If I’d written one more chapter it may very well have been an erotic novel. But as it is, it’s funny, sweet, and one-hundred-percent romance.
Q. This is your first book and it’s an award winning romance novel. What award did it win?
A. I was thrilled when I discovered The Misadventures of Catie Bloom won the Golden Palm Contest. It won 2nd place in Contemporary Romance!
Q. This is part of a romantic comedy series. How many more books will there be.
A. At least two full length and maybe a short story or novella. I’m almost done with the second book in the series, The Adventures of Natalie Bloom, which focuses on Natalie and one of the male characters from this book. It’s more of a romantic adventure than romantic comedy.
Q. I see one of your categories is romance ménage mmf. I thought it was a sweet romance?
A. Ha! It is. I mean ménage in more of the emotional sense than the physical act. ☺
