CHOOSE HAPPINESS
Happiness is who you are at your most fundamental level. Unfortunately, most of us have forgotten this; we have forgotten this because of our socialization. Our society, parents, or caregivers have taught us what to believe. In doing so, we have forgotten our fundamental selves, which is happiness. The good news is that there are enlightened masters all around us who can remind us of our natural selves. These masters take on the form of newborn babies and animals. There is a reason for why babies are commonly referred to as being “bundles of joy” or why puppies, kittens, and other baby animals spend so much time engaging in play.
Emotions are a form of energy and can be considered as part of a continuum. At the lower level of the continuum, we find the emotions of depression, fear, and anger, all of which have a low level of energy. On the upper end of the scale are happiness, appreciation, and love, which is at the highest end of the continuum. These emotions have a high level of energy. When we compromise our authenticity, we moved down the continuum toward the lower level emotions.
This book does not pretend to offer you the answers on how to become happy. The reason for this statement is that based on two premises. The first premise is that you do not have to search for happiness as happiness is your natural state; it is just being overlooked. Secondly, every person is different so what works for one person may not work for another. This fact leads to our next premise, which is that each person needs to be authentic with who they are and find happiness in a way that works for them as an individual. Rather than viewing this book as a “one size fit all” approach, treat it as a smorgasbord or buffet and choose the information or exercises that resonate with you.
Ultimately, each one of us has appeared in this life to discover the deeper truths of our lives and become more loving and happier. In the best case scenario, this book will trigger something in you that will make you realize this. At worst, this book will point you in the right direction. Either way, this book does not hold the secret to happiness, for that secret lives within you.
