Amelia Kate Saunders was born at 2.30am on Monday 2nd June 2008, into the arms of her parents, Chantal and Richard. She filled our lives with joy and laughter, her smile the most infectious you had ever seen.
Yet Amelia wasn't a normal child - she was sent to us for a reason, and we found that reason on the awful day in 2012 that we discovered she had brain cancer.
Finding out such news would shatter the lives of many, especially given the fact we were told there was nothing that could be done. There was no treatment, no cure.
But, with the help of thousands of people around the world, we fought, and we never gave up on our precious daughter. We kept smiling, making her life as normal as it could be, sharing our love and surrounding her with warmth.
I wrote this book to help people understand that no matter what you face, how big the mountain is that you have to climb, you should never give up. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel, and Amelia showed us the way.
All profits from the sale of this book will be donated to the Katy Holmes Trust for children's brain tumour research.
