Chris was bored. Work offered no prospects, and there was nothing on the horizon. Life was dull.
…And that’s when he remembered an overpriced sandwich he’d had in London. And that’s when he typed ‘places to go for a reasonably priced sandwich’ into the internet search window. And that’s how he ended up quitting his job and going on a mission to Canada – in search of a reasonably priced sandwich!
Chris travels from the depths of Hertfordshire via rural Northamptonshire to Canada, where he crosses the country from coast to coast; negotiating cities, dense forests, vast lakes, and waterfalls in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes, spans the open plains of the Prairies, and hikes through National Parks and the towering Rocky Mountains in Western Canada. He visits popular sights, battles with homelessness, spends too much on a pepper, meets lots of wacky characters, buys some socks, and even encounters a leaf puncher! Oh, and he eats a lot of sandwiches on the way too.
A Taste of Canada is an entertaining insight into the world’s second largest country, and a humorous account of what some thought was a trivial pursuit, but that turned into something more – a culinary quest of great sandwichude!
