Ever battled the system and somehow kept smiling? Old friends Simon and Smartie are reluctant inmates of council sheltered accommodation under the thumb of the warden, (Bad) Betty Boomslanger. As Simon says, “If you’re upright, you are alright!” in Betty’s book.
Fun’s hard to find but little victories over Betty and the council rulebook are meat and drink to Simon and Smartie. Along the way, you get to know how they met at South Chadd, their sinkhole school, “where they taught you how to lose and eat sago till you barf.”
This book needs drawings: if you’re a cartoonist/illustrator and want the job email interpretations of up to three drawings as outlined in the text to the address below. It’s a sort of competition with no prize or financial reward unless we get published together sometime in future. All drawings acknowledged and gratefully received.
