Jackie, a vet who has recently relocated from her idyllic family farm to the streets of Liverpool, has a lot on her mind.
Three men seem to be vying for her attention.
There’s Alan, her handsome boss, who, despite his marriage, seems very interested in Jackie as far more than just an employee.
Then there’s the handsome and mysterious Ross, the Welsh dog warden whose lilting tones have Jackie enchanted, and who has come to her rescue on more than one occasion.
And Peter, the gorgeous owner of the first Portugese Podengo Jackie has ever treated, who lives just a few miles from her parents’ farm, and reminds her irresistibly of the home she has left behind.
But Jackie has far more on her plate than prospective romances: from a snake who’s been snacking on other people’s pets, to a dog determined to hitchhike his way out of the county, there’s plenty going on at the busy city centre veterinary practice to keep her occupied.
Not to mention the fact that she is sure a shadowy man has been following her…
When things take a turn for the worst, Jackie finds herself in more danger than she’d ever thought possible, and is forced to ask herself who, and what, she really wants.
Is Liverpool really where she’s meant to be?
Can she narrow down her love interests to one special person?
Or is it time to move on and start afresh?
‘Vetting Them’ follows the mishaps and misadventures of a young vet juggling her love of animals with her quest for romance; a journey which proves to be touching and hilarious in equal measure.
