In the generalised view today, a view fed alike by propagandist literature, scholarship, the media, and most (if not all other other) agencies, Islam equates barbarism. If there is one view in the world that is utterly, fundamentally, wrong, it is that just stated. If there is one force of progress and real civilisation, it is Islam. That Muslims and Muslim society today are in a dire state, this is certain. This work acknowledges this. However, relying on historical facts, not claims, and tackling argument by argument, this book, this volume in particular, shows that it was Islam which was not jus at the foundation of Muslim greatness during the medieval period, but also that the whole world, including the West, owes it all to Islam. Without the impact of Islam, there would have never been an Islamic civilisation. Without Islamic civilisation there would have never been Western (modern) civilisation.
