About
Colin Forse's career coincided with more or less the whole period of nationalised railways (from 1948-1996). From a lad's work in Yatton West signal box, he progressed through being a fireman on the Cheddar Valley branch line and later drove steam and diesel powered engines including HSTs. He returned to steam in the 1980s when he became an Inspector on steam trains running over BR track. In an informal, chatty style, he tells it how it was - hard physical work that had many moments of fun. Illustrated with photos from Colin's own albums.
