A secret informer has leaked plans of the new Gotha bomber to the British, and Buckingham wonders if the informer could be a friend of his from pre-war days, Max Grek. Yet things soon go badly wrong when Buckingham begins to suspect that there might be a traitor in the very heart of the Whitehall establishment. When people start to die, Buckingham has to go on the run accused of murder, while he is hunted both by the police, and a German spy ring led by a mysterious individual code-named Herr Meistersinger...
