World of Tanks, The Missing Manual, will teach you to play better, reduce the grind to new tanks, manage your in-game money, find the best mods, win more games and have more fun.
World of Tanks is brash, explosive, and . . . complicated. There are hundreds of vehicles spread across a half-dozen nations and ten tiers. Each tank has to be outfitted with the best combination of modules, equipment, consumables and crew skills. In battle, there are dozens of tactics that make the difference between winning and dying.
Learn how to pick the best tanks, outfit them efficiently and play them to their maximum potential. Discover battle tactics that will make you a better tanker and increase your win rate. Pick the mods that will give you an edge over your opponents. Find the best way to shorten the grind and get from the tank you hate to the one you really want.
You could spend hundreds of hours studying the World of Tanks Wiki, combing through the WoT forums for the occasional useful post, and watching countless videos to improve your game. Or you can find the information you need right here, in World of Tanks, the Missing Manual.
The first update, (v.1.5) in December of last year, added a significant amount of new content. This version, 2.0, was updated in June 2014. Updates include changes in the game, such as how destructible cover works. The section on mods has been expanded, including information on banned mods, and other tweaks and improvements have been added throughout the book. The update also contains a new section, “Advice for Brand Newbees,” that provides a walk-through to help brand new players earn three good Tier II tanks in fifty battles or so.
If you bought an earlier version, it should update on your Kindle automatically, but Amazon’s auto-update is wonky and downright broken on some models. If you bought an earlier version and it won’t update for you, send me an e-mail (my address is at the end of the book) and I’ll send you the new one.
