However when introducing such systems into an existing industry there is a huge learning curve, time must be spent on training and with such new technology even those conducting training are effectively novices themselves. Such obstacles along with the required transition period and of course the huge cost associated with such technology must be assessed alongside the potential benefits, to conclude whether or not BIMs initial costs outweigh the long term gains and if the system has a position within the modern construction industry in the UK.’
