A great deal of commentary has concerned itself with the abandonment of Jesus, by God, on the cross, inspired by Jesus' cry, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" When one goes through this Psalm of David, written hundreds and hundreds of years before Jesus was crucified, one is struck by the similarities in the Psalm to the events surrounding Jesus' death.
