TWO sports;
TWO careers;
TWO continents;
ONE amazing journey
In his own words, and the words of many who joined Kevin on his incredible rollercoaster journey.
The Cadle Will Rock is the inside story of Kevin's exploits winning countless trophies (and smashing more than one of them); painting the town red in Moscow in the company of the KGB; dodging bombs and bullets in the Golan Heights; and his encounters with some of the very biggest names in the worlds of sport and showbiz such as Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and William 'Refrigerator' Perry. Not forgetting Stevie Wonder...
This book traces Kevin's life, from growing up in Buffalo and his trials and tribulations at college; his move to the UK and his record-breaking coaching career; the domestic trophy haul which saw one of his teams earn a place in the Guinness Book of Records and his achievement in becoming the only coach to lead a UK team to the final eight in European competition; and his subsequent high-profile career in TV presenting Sky's coverage of basketball and American football.
For the book, author Paul New not only spoke at length to Kevin to get the inside story behind many of his amazing exploits but also interviewed many of the big names - his college coaches, players, club owners, other BBL coaches, as well as personalities from his TV career. The list of interviewees includes:
Bobby Kinzer, James Morrison, Alton Byrd, Alan Cunningham, Dan Davis, Steve Bontrager, Martin Clark, Martin Henlan, Karl Brown, Robbie Peers and Fabulous Flournoy
And the foreword is written by Shaun Gayle, captain of the Chicago Bears team which won the Super Bowl in 1985.
In the book Kevin is brutally forthright, as he was during his coaching career.
But read the book and you'll find out why, in the words of Dan Davis, one of the best players ever to grace UK basketball, "Kev is one in a million."
