As a young girl Zoe had a traumatic experience with a spider’s web, and what she thought to be an enormous spider, leaving her with a horrific fear of the creepy little things.
When she gets older and a little bolder she turns her fear into hatred and becomes responsible for the death, by stomping, of many of these innocent little creatures.
One night, after diligently checking her room for spiders, she is ambushed and held hostage by a spider called Esmerelda. Esmerelda wants to teach this mean little girl a lesson in kindness, and decides to show Zoe how the world feels, from the spiders’ point of view. Forcing Zoe’s mouth open Esmeralda drops right into the horrified Zoe’s gaping mouth, and is gulped away.
