Our wordl today is controlled by satellites and yet we hardly ever hear about them...Even children as young as 3 can use a computer...maybe just the basics but still! a computer! Most of us have the use of a computer that is connected to the internet...Yet very few things are known about how the internet works...What satellites do and where all of our communications are controlled from? I have asked myself a million times...Why do I never see any satellite books that have fun looking satellite characters that are also really friendly? Can this be the reason why children know so very little about how satellites work, where they live and what they can do? In answer to my why's? The conclusion I have come too?
Why? Well I think it is because the satellite education books...all too often look really boring. They do not look like they will be fun to read...Un-attractive to both children and adults. They are not the sort of books that us parents tend to hover towards while in the book shop?. We all tend to go for the bright cartoon style books that look like there are lots of nice bright pictures of friendly looking characters. Books that have a nice short-ish story inside.
A story that can be read in 10 minuets is interesting and entertaining... SatSam's stories are all of this plus informative. Learning fact via fictional stories...Education can be obtained in many forms.
